LAPAROSCOPY

Laparoscopy is a surgery procedure to examine the interior of the abdominal or pelvic cavities for diagnosis or treatment. The problems diagnosed or treated by laparoscopy include : endometriosis, fibroids, scar tissue, abnormalities in the uterus, ovaries and fallopian tubes….. Laparoscopy is performed through small incisions in the lower abdomen. In addition, the abdomen cavity is filled with gas in order to make the abdomen to swell and a telescope with a fiber optic camera is inserted through the belly button. General anaesthesia is usually required. It is a minimally invasive surgical procedure and it greatly reduces patient’s recovery time.
